What Is Stage 1?

The 2025 BMW S1000R has undergone a few changes: a revised look, a little more power, and new software/features! BMW added a couple more HP and introduced the 60° quick-action throttle (new for 2025).

Leveraging our decade of experience and research with the BMW platform, we've developed the 2025 S1000R Stage 1 Flash. Both U.S. and European S1000R models are restricted from the factory, with U.S. versions featuring some of the worst restrictions we've ever seen on a BMW liter bike.

What's Being Restricted

  • Throttle Restriction — The throttle is restricted and has a lazy feel on tip-in, with power loss in certain gears/RPM ranges.
  • Exhaust Valve — Restricted to stay quieter, resulting in power loss.
  • Fueling — The BMW S1000R runs overly rich from the factory and needs adjustment.
  • Heat Management — The S1000R feels and runs hot.

What We Do to Fix These Issues

  • Throttle Restriction — We remove the factory throttle restrictions across the board to deliver the riding experience and power you expected right off the showroom floor.
  • Exhaust Valve — We retain the stock exhaust valve for emissions compliance but optimize it to open fully when needed for maximum power gains. This also provides a more robust sound with the factory exhaust.
  • Fueling — Using our full-time closed-loop feature (BT-Moto exclusive), we program the S1000R to target a better AFR (Air/Fuel Ratio). This delivers extra power while fixing drivability and idle issues. The bike self-tunes as long as the factory sensors remain installed.
  • Heat Management — We activate the fans earlier and adjust fueling to a proper ratio for cooler, more consistent running temps.

Please note: Our Stage 1 tuning is certified 50-state legal by CARB EO D-868. As of July 2025, we no longer offer extended rev limiter options on Stage 1 tuning. Stage 1 is designed for OEM dealer-level serviceability and to comply with BMW's warranty standards. For race use, please consider our Stage 2 mapping upgrade.
